LORDS
of the LAST BENCHES is a search for the INNERCHILD
Manytimeswe deliberately recreate the same story depending on our audience or our state of being and how we feel. No matter how the expression of the story, the feelings they convey or the logical sequence we choose, there is a method in madness. Likewise there is a strategy in sanity. Most often the wisdom in the stories appears oblivious. Plain speaking and easy reading makes it difficult to unearth their actual meaning. The significance of stories is discovered when we look in detail …the main character, the supporting cast and role, the plot. Its contrast, the moral meaning and at last the ending, be it tragedy or a happy ending. Each story leaves us asking a number of questions and forces us to seek the answer in the story itself. Even more it haunts us to find the answers even after we have read the whole story. “Why did I have the need to read this story? What significance does it have for my life? Why do I not rest till the answer is found? |

Our curiosity will discover new truths about ourselves. Stories will take us back to our cores self. The inner child. The self that has weaved many stories. We do so to protect our fragile egos. To make us feel glad and look good in the presence of others. Stories help to reduce the pain and guilt. Stories look good and they have legs of their own….in the bargain we distance our present lives from our inner self thanks to the many stories that we spin, recall narrate and convey. Now that we are adults we are barely able to recognize ourselves, the child we grew up with. “I cannot see the person I used to be”? One may ask…..do out stories mean so much, do out stories tell a different tale? When was the last that you cared to look, ask, unearth and confront…..
Am, I a story keeper, a story weaver, a story teller? which ever way you look at stories. Stories have legs some of which clouds our feet and we are not able to see the ground or run with. The Lord is our INNER CHILD which the adult has deliberately shunned to the Last Benches |

Welcome to Lords of the Last Benches a journey into the inner child…the child that we have so successfully distanced to the extend that we are not able to see or recognize …? Do you care to look or seek, either way ….If so… this book is for you…..
Through the years the adult is successful in creating a mask; it pushes the inner child to the wings of the stage and at times even back stage. The external costume creates an artificial screen that maintains the focus on various roles but not on the main script. Instead of focusing on the inner child and expressing true feeling, feeling that our important to you, the adult encourages the individual to get preoccupied with the role one is enacting. It is important to uncover the Lord (inner child) who for so long was pushed to the Last Benches.
Once this journey has started the Champion in Us resurrects and comes to life.
